Beautiful book covers…

Hey, everyone!!

Now I’m as bad as everyone else when it comes to pretty book covers, I remember one time when I was studying for my A-Levels we had to get a copy of The Great Gatsby. EVERYONE else in my class got a cheap edition that was less than £5, me you ask? Nope, I bought a limited edition copy of it that had pretty french flaps. You want to hear the worse thing? I don’t even like The Great Gatsby….

So anyway back to the books. I love watching the video versions of these videos on youtube and so I decided to do a blog post on it. I’m never going to stop buying books, never mind pretty ones so if you enjoy this post let me know and ill make it into a series on this blog for every season or something.

The books!!!!

The first book I think of when I think of a beautiful book I own is:

A Thousand Pieces of You by Claudia Gray

Marguerite Caine’s physicist parents are known for their groundbreaking achievements. Their most astonishing invention called the Firebird, allows users to jump into multiple universes–and promises to revolutionize science forever. How beautiful is that cover? You should see the rest in the series!!! THEY GET BETTER)

How beautiful is that cover? You should see the rest in the series!!! They get BETTER! This cover just really pleases my eye and I think it is because I am quite impartial to the colour purple. Also I think this cover really ties in with the premise of the story as you can clearly see the mirrored image on the cover showing the alternate universes. I think it also really accurately reflects the beautiful writing on the inside of the book, Claudia Gray is amazing at world building and you can really vividly see the images she paints with her words.

A Court of Wings and Ruin by Sarah J Maas

Now with this, I am a little biased because It is one of my favourite series ever!

WARNING! Spoilers for the series if you haven’t read it yet! just keep scrolling my friends!:)

Feyre has returned to the Spring Court, determined to gather information on Tamlin’s manoeuvrings and the invading king threatening to bring Prythian to its knees.

Ok, I LOVE this cover. I love Feyre in her dress of night and stars. I love the Illryian tattoo on her hand and not to mention the Illryain steel blade she’s holding. This cover shows the character development of Feyre though this series and I also love that, as someone who has already read it, there are so many small things that have been added in to reflect what happens in this book. I just love it, all of it.

Heir of Fire by Sarah J Maas by Sarah J Maas

Can you tell who might be one of my favourite authors??

WARNING! Spoilers for the series if you haven’t read it yet! just keep scrolling my friends!:)

Lost and broken, Celaena Sardothien’s only thought is to avenge the savage death of her dearest friend: as the King of Adarlan’s Assassin, she is bound to serve this tyrant, but he will pay for what he did. Any hope Celaena has of destroying the king lies in answers to be found in Wendlyn.

Im just throwing this out there, I adore Sarah J Maas and I have yet to read a book by her that I do not like (my opinion please respect). The Throne of Glass series is my all time favourite and it doesn’t help that they are in these beautiful UK paperback editions. From the whole series, this cover is my favourite because it shows Celaena’s development from a broken, lonely assassin to a wonderful kick-ass, avenging QWEEN! I love this series and I love the covers because they are beautiful and aesthetically pleasing.

Shock of the Fall by Nathan Filer

‘I’ll tell you what happened because it will be a good way to introduce my brother. His name’s Simon. I think you’re going to like him. I really do. But in a couple of pages, he’ll be dead. And he was never the same after that.’

This book was one of the first books I bought solely because I thought the cover was beautiful, little did I know how beautiful the inside was too. This book is stunning and it has that lovely velvety feel to it when you hold it. I don’t think the picture does it justice by this cover is a teal/ green sort of cover with gold foiling for the leaves and IT IS STUNNING!

I can’t explain the cover away much without giving away the premise of the book but note, it really is reflective of what the novel is about and it’s utterly gorgeous, I just love the tree and the little boy under it reading. This is a beautiful book in every way.

Caraval by Stephanie Garber

Welcome to Caraval, where nothing is quite what it seems…

‘If you ever wondered how it would feel to step into a dream, here’s your ticket’ – Stacey Lee
Scarlett has never left the tiny isle of Trisda, pining from afar for the wonder of Caraval, a once-a-year week-long performance where the audience participates in the show.

This book has taken the book world by storm and I am sad to say that i…um…still haven’t read it? Whoops. I will get to it by the end of the year! Promise! But the cover, now that I can talk about, I own the UK hardcover edition that has the black and white dust jacket with the gold embossed carnival tent on the cover. Just let me tell you, if you love beautiful book covers you need to go and have a look at this one, it is stunning and so detailed yet some how minimalistic? I don’t know but it gorgeous!

So guys that ends my first, possibly instalment of beautiful book covers on this blog, let me know if you like these books and what book covers you all like!

So everyone, thanks for reading

  1. The Maas series and Caraval are all on my to read list. The covers do look beautiful. I try not to go into book stores because I always feel guilty spending money, but they pretty covers call out to you. That’s the sad thing about e-readers too, is that you can’t enjoy the pretty covers.
